The light beside the boat
On June 27, three crew members off Massachusetts reported a golden light near the water. They described a changing, fountainlike form silently keeping pace with their fishing vessel. Their account says radar showed other vessels but nothing corresponding to the light. The report was posted in July.
The file supplied to our newsroom under the report number shows a point of light against darkness. We include all nine seconds, without audio. It does not show radar or establish distance or size on its own.
The crew said other vessels appeared on radar. Checking why the light did not requires the instrument records and the boat's position during the observation, if they survive.
What the milestone counts
On September 7, the National UFO Reporting Center, NUFORC, announced that it had received its 200,000th report in August. That marks 52 years of collecting accounts, not a count of identified spacecraft.
Its accompanying selection includes the fishermen’s story. The center also points to almost 2,000 reports from the past four years highlighted under its own criteria. The roundup is new; its encounters happened on different earlier dates.
It is easy to read a number and move on. Opening a record reveals what is actually available: time and place, movement, other people, images or footage. Each offers a different route for investigation.
Two triangles over the vehicles
Another selected account comes from Troy, New York. A person identifying himself as a soldier with 16 years of service reported seeing two triangular objects with other soldiers on May 7. He described panels opening underneath, a gridlike pattern of light on the ground, then acceleration north.
The source is that person’s submission, not a National Guard statement. He wrote that fear initially kept him from reporting. A separate account from someone standing beside him, with details to compare, would be a useful next piece of evidence.
