The object filmed over Antioquia, Colombia

This is the complete version supplied to Alien News, with Hebrew captions embedded in the video.

How the sighting began

Arteaga said he and the other pilot were flying over Antioquia toward Medellin when they noticed an object that appeared to remain stationary between Medellin and Santa Fe de Antioquia. After their first pass, he turned the aircraft to return and film it. The short video first shows a dark point against the clouds, followed by a much closer view of a dark and light body with a pointed front and rounded rear.

The flight details

Arteaga described an altitude of about 12,500 feet, a temperature near five degrees Celsius and an airspeed of roughly 130 to 150 knots. He said he tried to approach and track the object, then changed course when it appeared to move toward the aircraft. He reported seeing no familiar wings, external components or visible means of propulsion.

From a private recording to a viral video

The encounter was recorded in May 2022 but gained broad international attention in April 2023, after journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan interviewed Arteaga. Later posts often supplied conflicting dates and altitudes. The date of the recording, May 12, 2022, should therefore be kept separate from the video's widespread publication in 2023.

What the footage preserves

The color daylight recording was made from inside the aircraft. The object is visible first at a distance and then at close range for a fraction of a second. The cloud layer, landscape and parts of the aircraft provide visual context for the camera movement. The embedded version includes Hebrew captions and preserves the complete clip supplied to Alien News.

Arteaga's account

In the linked interview, Arteaga describes turning and ending his tracking attempt for safety. He supplies the altitude, speed and route details; the flight data themselves were not published with the clip.

Sources and context

Arteaga said the recording was made near San Jeronimo while approaching Medellin, at approximately 12,500 feet and around 1:00 p.m. He dated the encounter to May 12, 2022. The footage became widely known after his interview was broadcast in April 2023.

The public record does not include radar returns, a complete flight log, the original file with metadata or a measured distance and size for the object. This report presents the footage and the pilot's account as published.
