The light overhead and the craft
Yury Isakov was a 62-year-old retired cook living in Nazareth Illit. One evening in the autumn of 1996, at 19:55, he left home to check a mailbox only a short distance away. He said a light appeared above his head before he was grabbed by the hair, neck and left arm and pulled into a flying craft. Inside, he saw creatures examining his body and speaking in a language he compared to the sound of a phonograph needle scratching a record. In his memory, the experience lasted about twenty minutes, but when he opened his eyes much more time had passed.
The football field and the missing hours
Yury awoke on a football field hundreds of metres from where he had begun. It was already 23:00, more than three hours after he left home. Marks described as burns appeared on his arm and neck, and a strange yellowish powder reportedly containing aluminium was found on his body. He went directly to a police station and later repeated the story to a doctor and a psychiatrist. Published accounts said Emek Medical Center had no explanation for the powder and that he continued to experience skin problems. Soon afterwards, he gave a detailed television interview to Rafi Reshef. The embedded recording preserves his account of the light, the creatures, the examinations and the moment he awoke far from home.
